BEFORE CONTINUING my post on the MBFDZ, I thought you might be interested to hear about my trip last Tuesday to the pre-sale of Maison Martin Margiela for H&M capsule collection. Imagine shopping while enjoying appetizers with a glass of Champagne. I arrived there just in time to get most of the items I wanted. They were possibly the two most basic pieces out of this collection of what can be described as crazily- structured clothes. This should astonish no one as Margiela was known for deconstructing the typical high-fashion design. I have been an ardent customer of capsule collections for H&M. However, I have also been disappointed many times that the collection captures or represents little of the brand. I was pleasantly surprised this time. The fabrics, sewing and cut are better than what you normally find in H&M’s stock offerings. So Margiela’s pieces were a great quality-price deal. I have been let down several times in the past by H&M’s in-store service. So it was yet another refreshing surprise when a shopgirl came to me with a huge smile and offered to help. I am curious to find out what you got from the H&M Maison Martin Margiela collection?
