Rouge à Lèvre – The Red Essential

It is no accident that lipstick in French is called “rouge à lèvre” – literally “red of (or for) the lips”. The lipstick is every girl’s makeup essential and fire red is the color of choice. It dresses you up even when you only wear a simple makeup of a mascara and cheek blush. Or it can add the final touch to a sophisticated smoky eye effect. Many people restrict red lips to evenings only, thinking that they may look overdressed in daytime. Let me show you the contrary.
Here is the third and final look I created with H&M Beauty line. When you wear red lipstick during the day, avoid matching it with a heavy eye makeup. Prefer nude colors worked to a natural effect and let the red lips stand out on their own. I “widen” my eye outwards by shading in light brown and beige colors on the crease, and a slight golden eyeshadow on the inner lid. What took me most time was to work the mascara so that the lashes look eye-catching (sorry for the pun). Finally, I drew my lips with a red lip pen to get the shape right and fill it with a regular lipstick.
