In fashion as in any skill, we should learn the rules before breaking them. Today, I want to talk about the rule of not clashing the color of your boots (ankle to mid-height boots) with that of your bottom. Unless you have endless legs, this combination makes them look broad and short. Even contrasting a light tone with a dark one of a matching color produces this effect. To test this rule by actually breaking it, I have here a baby-blue ankle boots and dark denim jeans. What do you think? Ultimately, it may just be about dressing up with what you like even if they do not flatter the silhouette.
On that note, I am wearing a few new crushes. Let’s start with the leather jacket from Soft Grey collection of La Redoute (click to shop). I got fascinated with biker jackets since my teens. I now own many different models – in different material and colors, and even one with a faux-fur collar. But everything about this one is top-notch: leather, timeless design and cut. You will see me wearing it a lot. Another piece, also from La Redoute, is the striped V-neck blouse. It’s ideal under a coat for spring and in-between season. And what else but another pair of shoes … ! They are from Dune London. Check out the British brand’s many trendy designs in its new collection. Lastly, a coin necklace I found at the flea market in Shoreditch. This little jewelry may look insignificant but is a big souvenir of my recent London trip!
