Dress-Up To Have Fun

This dress would do nicely at a chic cocktail or gala event.  If we like an outfit, why not find other occasions to go out with it!  The initial thoughts often are: “This dress is too elegant for daywear” or “I can’t go downtown with this dazzling necklace“. Don’t overthink it and simply enjoy!  I can never repeat it enough – dressing-up, styling, and picking an outfit is about having fun (…within certain limits of course).

Here is a case in point.  In my room the other Saturday morning, I was staring at this beautiful Odysay dress from Geneva-based Swiss designer, Soña.  It’s all white, transparent on both sides,  and long (hence to be worn with heels). Definitely not your go-to casual wear.  Who cares, right? I put it on and “dressed it down” a little with a little with lace-up sandals from La Redoute and a casual striped blazer (shop similar styles at Bonprix).  Makeup was simple with red lips.  I took along the medium-size black bag I recently got from myprivateboutique.ch.  I wore this outfit the whole morning doing my usual stuff.  And I felt great.

Next time you feel like wearing an “out-of-place” outfit, think different.  Mix and match pieces so that the overall effect no longer fits into an “elegant evening” or other stereotype.

That was the first thing I thought by looking at the pictures “out-of-place”, which means you totally made your point. There’s no right or wrong place as long as we want it!
