I avoid discussing touchy subjects (such as religion and politics) or getting too personal in my blog. Blame it on the neutral tendencies of my half-Swiss origin. Here, I will throw caution to the wind and get personal – to talk about how I take time for myself.
Our baby boomer parents have it all laid down for them – study hard, land on a good job in a big organization, work yourself up and build a decent living. Many of them define themselves by their careers. We Gen Y face a new world where (excuse the cliché) the only constant is change. Our “new normal” is NOT to be normal. I even wonder what a “proper” job is. I blog, I co-founded a social-cultural association to promote local art, I have been working on turning an idea to a start-up, and I free-lance as a digital marketing consultant. I am not an entrepreneur in the normal sense, but I force myself to get to get out of my comfort zone by working on new projects – exploring new paths and learning new ways of seeing things. In essence, to make and take time for yourself, just as I did recently venturing out on my own on 3-week backpacking trip to Vietnam. As someone once said, “I took some time out for life.”
Now, from time to timepieces…
I discovered the Henry London watch brand earlier this year and it has since become one of my favorite wrist accessories. The watches are vintage in design reminiscent of the British heritage. The brand and I are keen like to know how you “take your time“. So, get personal by writing a comment below to tell us what you do to take time for yourself. One of you will WIN a Henry London watch of your choice. Don’t forget to leave us an email address we can contact you.
Don’t wait – giveaway entries close on 26th October 2016 at midnight (GMT+1).
