Winter Beauty Routine

Many of you have asked me about my beauty routine. To start with, I have a combination (sensitive and oily) skin which is also acne-prone. Thus, the products I use may not work for everyone. You will do well to ask for a specialist advice first.
First, a few words about the products. I am not sponsored here to refer to specific brands. I have been using La Roche-Posay as my staple for a couple of years and their products have never disappointed me. I have recently added a few brands especially Aesop and Kiehl’s.
In the morning I believe more is not better. I simply wash my face with cold water. Then I put a few drops of Aesop B & Tea Balancing Toner on a small cotton pad and work it all over my face. Avoid the eye contour area because it may be sensitive to some ingredients. I have previously tested Kiehl’s Calendula Toner and like it more. Calendula flowers seem to have magical healing effects on small marks to clear out imperfections. I then moisturize my skin with Aesop Mandarin Facial Hydrating cream. The fruit scent is quite strong at first but gently fades away. Usually preferring inodorous products, I didn’t like it initially but then quickly got used to it.
In the evening The most important step is to clean up your face well after a full day’s exposure to pollution and constant contact with your phones or hands. Residue makeup and dirt make your skin greasy and even cause pimples to grow. Many don’t have this problem and find it alright to use regular soap. However doing this over an extended time may result in early wrinkles and marks. When I have a heavy makeup I first use La Roche-Posay Respectissime Waterproof Makeup Remover to remove it. I then dampen my face with cold water and use Toleriane Dermo-cleanser that I wash off with a dishcloth. After these two steps, you can be sure your face is cleaned up. Next, I moisturize my skin with Hydraphase Intense Light which feels lighter than Aesop Mandarin cream. I also take care to apply Effaclar Duo+ to the sensitive zones of my face. If you have problematic skin, this routine alone may help you see a big improvement in less than a week!
Every 10 days or once in a while I exfoliate my face by adding Aesop magical Tea Tree Leaf Facial exfoliant to my usual cleanser. This formula is a genius idea as you can choose the dosage. Then for in-depth moisturizing, I use La Roche-Posay Hydraphase Intense Mask.
I hope this post has tempted you to try out a few new ideas. Let me know how they work for you!
