Naked Smoky Day and Night

We all have our beauty routine. Some prefer to wear a light mascara, others distinguish themselves with an eyeliner, or energizing colors. My go-to routine is for either a natural look or smoky eyes. A smoky effect in the daytime? Indeed! One of my favorite makeup brand Urban Decay recently launched the “Naked Smoky” palette in Switzerland – just the right occasion to show how smoky eyes can go with both day and evening outfits. Follow me!
During the Day

Let me first show you one way of creating this passe-partout yet distinctive smoky look for the daytime. To avoid the makeup standing out too much, go for lighter brownish shades. For my Asian almond-shaped eyes, we worked mostly on the outer lid, V line and waterline. The secret to mastering this makeup is patience as it takes time to work the colors well. Once done, I can personally testify that it is easy to wear and long-lasting!

At Night
To compete with artificial lighting at night (eg. off the disco ball), go for shiny and dark shades. However, there is no need to remove and redo all your makeup. Just make the colors stronger. Here, we worked again on the same zone but with deep gray, black and purplish notes. The Naked Smoky palette provides everything you need for this, including the brush. I was in a party mood, so I went full out with a red matte lipstick!

Keen to try out the smoky effect? Urban Decay “Naked Smoky” palette will be available from the 29th August in Switzerland at and, and also at their selected stores!
