What Products For A Strobing Effect

Ever heard of “strobing“ or that “strobing is the new contouring“?  Strobing is basically just another term to describe highlighting.  While contouring is about enhancing and sculpting your face shape, strobing is about working up a dewy, shimmery and youthful glow.  Here are a few ways of achieving the effects of strobing and the products I use.

MAC Strobe Cream is a moisturizer to brighten the look of dull skin.  Use your finger tips to apply the cream evenly over the cheekbone, temple, nose bridge and above the cupid’s bow.  Have a good light to see that you do not over-apply the cream (which will go from a dewy to sweaty glow).

Maybelline Master Strobing Stick  (on the pic: Dark Gold 300)   If you don’t have time to work on a strobing effect with a cream, the stick is your quicker option.  For better result, I suggest you blend it over your face with your fingertips again to avoid a sweaty-effect.

MAC extra dimension skin finish SHOW GOLD  This is your quick and easy option to strobing effect.  Apply the powder with a brush (I use MAC 168 large angled contour brush) over cheekbone, temple, bridge of the nose and cupid’s bow.

MAC mineralize skinfinish OTHEREARTHLY works the same way as the powder above.

Dr. Hauschka illuminating powder a natural, organic, environmental- and human- friendly brand.  If you want to be more discreet on strobing, use this powder to highlight specific areas.

REMINDER :  I can never repeat enough that you can easily go from dewy glow to sweaty-effect. Do choose a shade (gold, silver, peach, etc.) that goes well with your skin and don’t over-apply.
